How much can you get away with on stock electric?

I run a stock lead acid battery in the front and a group 31 deka in the back with 1/0 for the big three. Everything is charged by a stock 80A and pushes close to 2000 with no voltage drops. big 3 and a good battery are more important than an alt.

I'm basically doing that on mine. From what I've seen if you stick w/ 4gauge(shortest run possible) and keep under 1500w you should be fine, doing the BIG 3 mods of course.

A easy, rough way to look at it is 100watts per 10amps.

So if you have 1000watts, that uses 100amps. Leaving 30amps for the car to use for lights, AC, etc.

You should be fine as long as you use proper wire. Big 3 would be recommended to reduce resistance.

With that alt, worst case scenario on 1000rms would probably be a small Shuriken battery or something similar in the trunk ($99 from sonicelectronix)

When the amp needs power it needs a power reserve. So it will basically draw the majority of power from the closest power source.

A second battery is easy.Just be sure the battery is secured down, and then run a positive from the front battery to the rear batteries positive. Then you can just frame ground the negative terminal of the battery.Just be sure it is a clean, and secure fitting.

Before people start bishing about the second run back to the front batteries negative someone will have to prove to me that it matters...

that should be fine. but definitely do the Big 3 and use big wire if you plan on ever upgrading. low voltage kills amps and lack of current flow is the usual cause
No way will u get away running 1000 watts continuous daily on 130amp alt, the batt might last a month at the most.
