I tried searching but couldn't find a definite answer. How much can a hdc312 handle without causing damage? Could a crunch gp3000d be used to power it? I saw where someone was trying to use this setup but never got it working. Also how good does this sub sound when not running on a lot of power? Is it decent sq-wise?

I'd stay around 1500w for continuous music and double that for burps. Just use your common sense when playing the sub. If you smell coil or the thing is bottoming out, you will know where your limits are.

is there any 12 that will take 3000rms, sound decent at less than 1000 watts for daily listening and most importantly cost less than 300 shipped?

i had a kx2500.1 on mine and it handled it fine.
however, i wouldnt do anything more than the rated 1kw.
yours is the aluminum coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif his would be the standard copper coil i believe

i wouldnt put anything over 2000rms on it

i know what it is, but seeing the recent hdc thread, and seeing DJ's response, i wouldn't expect to get any warranty work done if you run over rated power.

I just installed my 10s today and started getting ready for the show on the 20th they can handle way more than 3kwrms on burps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif BTW, they are louder than the HD's were as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif:eek: As for the copper coils id say up to 2500wrms per sub daily. I did notice on my 10's the glue joint at the spider to the cone wasnt that great looks like they got some of the seam but not enough. Like the glue seam was about 1/4" wide but only got about 1/16th on the cone the rest was on the spider. I took some CA glue and reglued the seam. DJ, when your doing QC you might wanna check that seam out.
