How long do you wear your contact lenses?

I think I needa change mine tonight.... they've been in a few months, starting to get a little hard to see well.

I usually get 2-4 months per pair, almost never take 'em out... maybe once during that time, but most often never. These are the 2-week extended-wear disposables.

Anyone else do this?

Well, I last went the the optometrist in January of '07 and got a 9 month supply of contacts....and I still have one or two pairs left //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So yeah, 2-4 months a pair easy I would say. I also almost never take them out.

Though last time I went to the optometrist he politely reemed me for wearing them so long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Said I had some kind of "packets" on my eyes because they weren't getting enough oxygen, because build-up occurs on the lenses when worn that long & doesn't allow them to "breath".

This reminds me I really should go back & get another exam so that I don't run out of lenses.......

Yup, eye doc chewed my *** last time too. I never took mine out and it built up bloodvessels because of the oxygen problem. I just decided to get glasses and say screw contacts for awhile.

I used to wear them long periods at a time also. The optometrist also told me that it causes scarring by depriving of oxygen and can cause various infections or dieases. Since then I have taken them out every night, and now I can't goto sleep with them in or I wake up in the middle of the night with my contacts totally dried out.

i wear custom lenses cuz my eyesight completely blows... they are 3months wear and i have to take them out nightly.. they are too thick to sleep in and no oxygen gets to my eyes... or i change them if i see some calcium deposit build ups

wow this thread is right on time!! I just switched from conventional contacts to disposable and thought I was going to be spending money every 6 months.... glad to hear you can wear them longer than 2 weeks at a time!! I wear the B&Ls but probably shouldve been fitted for accuvues as walmart stocks those and most placed have to order B&Ls....

i have the bi-weeklys and probably wear them about a month before i change them...but ive noticed my vision getting worse so i think its time to see the eye doctor again soon

Ive got the monthly disposable ones and usually only wear them for about a month. I used to ruin alot of them but I got a different type a couple of months ago and they last a little longer. I cant stand to sleep with them in tho.
