Love itunes love ipod love my mac love apple in general. For copying my dvds i use dvd shrink or dvd decrypter which are freeware software and than take those ripped files and burn using nero.

i was in love with dvd shrink but then they don't do updates no more so i switched over to dvdfab.

I just use clonedvd/anydvd. Never had any problems yet and so easy.
