How good is the Fi Q?

VERY happy with the 15 I put in the GF's car getting about 1000watts. Too much for her at times as I notice the remote knob is turned way down all the time. LOL

Its ok to me. I mean I have heard/had many 1 sub setups that were better, but for the money is hard to beat them. I had problems with the one I had, then had to ship it back, they said I blew it, yet was only giving it 900rms and gains were low on the amp. They sent me another one(great customer service, will say that) and this one is doing better, but still just not the impressed with it. Never went ported with it yet, but have had tested it in many sealed applications and best score I have gotten on a tl (Buddys shop owns one) was a 138.4 off the 900rms. So it does get very loud and low, but I honestly thought the sq would be better to me. This IMO though and others probably think I may be nutz. I am honestly starting to think that it just may not be the woofer, but the coustics of my Ford Focus. I thought about testing it in my other car, but I am too lazy, lol!

not to thread jack, but what other 1 sub setups have you heard that were better. I'm thinking about buying a the fiq 12 next week and i haven't found a subwoofer with alot of great reviews for $279 shipped

I have had many setups from Kicker L7, Kove Armagedon U2, Orion XTR, MTX 9500 and others I cant even think of right now, but there are others. All of those got just as loud, but some had more watts going to it and others had less, some sounded better sq wise and others didnt. I only have tested the L7, and the armagedon and MTX on an audio control and tl which ranged from 146 to 138. Loudest was the Kove and the lowest so far was the Fi, but like I said I used the Audio control on the Orion and the Kicker, so really the FI(which was on tl) was on par or louder. My major grip with Fi is that I thought the SQ would have been better. Thing is I was more a basshead, and now starting to get out of that and still wasnt impressed with it, but again if you read what I said, it could be the coustics of my car. Just because I am not happy with it, dont mean you wont be.

i want a mixture of SQ and SPL, im really more into the low end bass like to feel it shake things but i also need the top bass so itll sound good, as long as the bass is there i can deal with less SPL
