how good are you?

sorry I guess it was a blunt reply...
I did all sorts of these type of enclosures...

back like 20 years ago I built boxes with more turns

in the port than I could count

I now build all my enclosures around good airflow.

max airflow equals max bass with ported enclosures
You really don't know anything about design, do you? What you said has nothing to do with the enclosure in question, nor does it justify calling a perfectly fine box design "bad sounding".

I designed that. Its basically a by the book ABC box, or Dual tuned bass reflex. I see a lot of you have questions regarding the extra baffle in the main chamber. Thats just there to try and eliminate standing waves. Its like 12in away from the port.

All three ports are equal length, just like the ABC design calls for.

The reason the near and far ports are differently angled is because, The air from the middle port would flow right into the near port. That couldn't be good for tuning.
How would adding another panel even come close to eliminating standing waves? If you're that worried about it, line it with some closed cell foam or fiber fill.

Eh, I don't know about that panel. I thought that it was a good idea at the time. But surely I'm not the perfect designer, so perhaps it shouldn't be there at all.

I'm just defending the reasoning behind it being there. Not the fact that it probably shouldn't be.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif I learn something new almost everytime I design and build a box. A nice result from that is I'm becoming confident enough to know when something is going to work like planned.

Still thats tricky design. And I don't have hardly any experience with ABC boxes.

Problem solved!

What block did you swap in? I hope it isn't some shitty D-series. Tryin to find me a clean K20A to throw in my EP3.
Hahahaha! a D.....I swapped a B16A. With J1x ******.

I've got, skunk s2 cams, aem fuel rail, 330cc saturated injectors, hondata s200 ECU,

hondata vtec, dc sports 4-2-1 headers, Apexi N1 Exaust, Eagle rods and pistons, stock crank, titanium valve springs and retainers, Centerforce stage 3 clutch, B&M short shifter, ISW 15x7 wheels, intrega disk brakes.

Its laying down about 245hp@ 9200 rpm. I've gotten a 13.2@104.

Your arrogance annoys me. Go back to your shitty forum.

may bloody piles torment you....may corns grow on your feet

may crabs as big as turtles crawl up your azz and eats..

and when your old and feeble and become a nervous wreck

I hope your head falls thru your azz and breaks your friggin neck:laugh:

LMAO....

on a serious note...I have built more enclosures than I can count

and I know from many years of personal experience what kind of

box performs in what way...

there is always someone who will disspute others opinions....

I even do it myself.........

you still sound like an idiot though. because the point of having two tuning frequencies is to even out the FR and gain spl at the same time. not to get the loudest you can. not everyone is all about spl //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

so dont come claiming that 'bandpass' type boxes arent worth the effort, because i know a few people with some bandpass boxes that are doing 160+ and can play it daily because of the dual tuning frequencies.

but. i guess you knew that. and also, 20 years ago, woofers were a LOT different then they are now huh. so maybe these kinds of boxes can be *gasp* maximized *gasp* by using a less traditional enclosure!!

I use to enjoy building all those fancy band pass boxes back years ago myself....It is always fun to experiment....but through th years your finally get the big KISS "Keep it Simple Stupid" Saves time and headaches...the key to making a system sound and perform well is a good installation ...And making sure everything is done right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Not to say I may still get a wild hair every now and then and throw some exotic enclousure together myself...I still have several noteboxs filled with formulas specs and designs that I've never built //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

that is exactly where I am sitting now.....

I still like to build something different once in a while....

my next project after my install is finished will be a set of

Frugal Horn cabinets (out of hardwood) for my home system...
