As this an AUDIO forum, and most of us spend thousands of dollars to enhance our music. How does music affect your mood?

I remember things by music too. I would remember a person's personality by music. If it was a shitty person, whenever i think of the person there's always a shitty song in the background.

Its just like when people remember different times in their lives by the music that was playing at those times.

usually it'll intensify whatever mood i'm in, because I tend to listen to music congruent to my mood.

i.e. death metal makes me angrier, ska makes me happier, jazz makes me mellower, rap makes me gangsterer

When I workout, listening to metal gets me stoked.

If I'm more solemn, Ill listen to something quieter.

I more pick music to suit my mood than let the music decide my mood.

Sometimes I put on my Viking hat and crank up Die Walkure just to get in the mood.

If I am having a bad day and a song that I really like comes on the radio, it can turn my day around. If it is music I am selecting, then I would go for intensifying the mood.

Like said above I tend to set music to my mood. Though there are also times when a song or something can change my mood as well. Almost always positively though.

it really affects my mood like if some ccr or something like that comes on im really happy but if nsync comes on i flip out and start punching babies.
