Just want to know how you figure out the air space for the sub. do you just do it or something or does it not matter?

just do it or something, because it always matters.

First, try to get a "rough" idea of the area you are working with. Then when you get it built, take something like a shoebox, that you know the cu/ft of, and fill the shoebox with packing peanuts. Pour it in. then count the number of shoeboxes it takes to fill the enclosure.

If you want to be precise you can fill it up with water, and measure how many liters it takes up, then convert that to square feet.

you can, but its a real pita..warping any wood, draining it out, letting it dry.
