so how do you all know how much port area you need for your woofer?

Do you multiply xmax and sd to see how much air it moves and start from here?

Also, wuts the approx port area normally used for 8", 10", 12", 15" and 18" ?

When I looked at the Tech Sheet for my sub it told me how much I would need. I would imagine most manufacturer's would make a recommendation for their sub.
