ok the place that i went to and had my sounds hooked up used something to make the wires that go on to the amp's ground and power terminals harder, i think they soldered them. how do most of you guys without any thing to solder connect your wires to you amp's speaker terminals and to your amp's ground and power connections, you can just twist the wires with your hands and hook them up right?

Spade terminals are sometimes used (smaller guage wire though..) Just screw it in like azbass said.

no they didnt solder it to the terminals, it looked like they twisted it by hand and soldered it so it stays solid, they only did it to the power and grounds though, not speaker

i used ring terminals and screwed them in with the exicsting screw on my battery. for the ground, i just used another ring terminal and used an existing screw i had in the trunk.

Which, strangely is exactly what I said in the post right above yours...Applying solder to only the end of the wire without trying to use the solder to bond a joint is called "tinning."
