How do I go about asking for a raise?

With such a low level of literary skills, you're lucky to be making that much. How did you even get through the application writing like that? Do they use computerized, picture-based applications or something? I mean I know you're not in an intellectually intensive position, but I would at least expect someone to have passed fourth grade if he wanted me to hire him.
You would think.

I agree with this post.

**** my boss asked me twice if I wanted a raise.....came in the next day and got $2.35 more a hour......I think he just felt that it was his duty since he paid me under the table and I saved his *** on tax claims

I would play dumb and ask how often raises come around. Compliment your boss and tell her how much you enjoy working for her.

And if you don't get it that way then look elsewhere. When you get an offer and not before (it could backfire) let her know that you want to stay, but you have bills ect.. If you are truely good they will pay you more.

And if all that is too much trouble, just steal from our work. jk

unfortunately when dealing with small-medium businesses the raise/review process can be much more personal than with a large business/corp. You should just realize you run the risk of having your raise pushed of further or eventually being let go if it becomes personal.

Just be prepared to explain how you add value to the organization to justify and increase in compensation. Specifically if this will make you higher than your peers.

Alright, I work at Wendy's I started 7 months ago, making $7.50, I have got employee of the month and everyone likes me their, the General Manager really likes me says I am a hardworker, I have heard from several friends/employees that she talks about me often and how much she enjoys me being here and I am one of her favorites etc.

So I was talking to my friend who worked their tonight and he overheard some of the new people talking about pay, they said they were getting $8 and some of these people, are very dumb one girl didn't even know what a extension cord was and how to use it when she was cleaning the lobby, so the first few nights she only cleaned half of it, another girl is really fat in the way and wore a hairnet over her upper face (eyes) didn't even know how to put it on, she wore it for over one hour till someone told her she had it on incorrect, and to think these people are getting paid $8 really makes me sick, I have had two other friends ask for raises, either writting letter or just talking to them, both successful and are now making $8.50, when they were making $7.75 previously.

So my question is, how can I go about asking for a raise, what should I say, I have a good idea on how to approach her, and I am 90% sure I will get it, but I wanted to know your thoughts, thanks.
I never asked for a raise, it is usually given. Usually after your first year. Your raises won't be much of anything. I believe 8 is like 16 grand a year before taxes or something like that. 7 months is a long time in a restaurant setting. I mean you do what you gotta do with school and all, but to see any real bump in pay, you need a title behind it. If she likes you, you should be shift supervisor, floor manager or something.
