but honestly, take the cap out like everyone else says. get 1/0 wire, do the big 3 upgrade (alt to + on battery, - on bat engine block, and - on bat(yes another wire) to car chasis)

dont ask "well, i dont want to get rid of the cap because it will get rid of light dims" since we are all telling you that it wont do good on your alternator in the long wrong. we dont want you to complain how you wish you would had got rid of it a long time ago (which we are telling you today) and save yourself from having a fit about that problem in the future.

Its an old cap and theres no light or anything to tell that its working.

I read that if it wasn't charged and I had it connected it would be a short circuiting.. how do i check if its charged

Ill get someone to do the big 3 but im thinking about putting in a deep cycle battery now
