how do i figure up this port length ?

This may be a stupid question, I have always just done aero or simple L-port builds. Now I know a center port normally only has 2 common walls. But, does this still just have 2 or is it now considered 3 ?

Another thing is typically on say a 3" wide L port, you would want 3" off the back wall of the box. would you do the same on both sides of this one ? or do like 1.5" on both sides to equal the 3" center width ?

3 if you're running the port along the back wall. Top bottom back.....3 common.
