How do i do this??

If it makes a difference, i used this exact same wire to run a different amp. All i did was unhook it from the amp but it touched metal part of my seat as i was switching amps and blew. IDK if that rules out short in the wire or whatever.

Its always best to disconnect the power wire from the battery for the supply to the system, or if you have a fuse distro block ,to remove the fuse of the addition to be added and ground properly first.Always disconnect power first thing is what I do, Always,or the fuse at the distro block

Well im just gona buy like 10 fuses to **** with tomoro lol. Also gona take out the seat that the amp is under while i mess with it so i dont accidently touch metal again lol

can throw a piece of wood/ Mdf UNDER IT IF YOU HAVE SOME LYING AROUND?Check your power line for exposure/fradded wiring as well,if ground is solid, and power wiring is cleanly ran..it will most likely be a bad amp in my opinion.Easyist way to test is at the battery ..pos and remote together to poss connection on the batt, and ground to - on batt..if it goes into protect quickly, bad amp for certain.

You guys are not gona believe this. My ******* hooked up the ground to the power and the power to the ground on the amp. I had been installing a set of components all day and i was tired and it was getting dark. Was rushing and getting torn up by bugs and thought i had the right terminals but nope... Anyways let the **** talking begin! haha

lol shity man, hope she ain't fried haha
Good luck!
Could it have damaged the amp? All i did was hook it up ( the wrong way ) then try to replace the fuse in the power wire and the fuse blew instantly. I hooked it back up right and it turns on and works still. But did it damage it at all?

i've done this before too, and the inline fuse blew. The amp was just fine after replacing the inline fuse. Go test it.

I have personally seen it go both ways on here, sometimes the fuse just pops and the amp is fine, sometimes it can smoke the amp instantly.

Hopefully it continues working for ya!! lesson learned //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

^^^This. If the amp is working fine now you shouldn't have any problems with it due to this. I have also done this once before. I can GUARANTEE you won't make this mistake again.
