So, I am about to set the gain on a Soundstream TA1.2000D. I am running it at 1Ω, and it should produce 2000Watts. 2000W X 1Ω = 2000 √ = 44Vac.
The same amp presented with a 2Ω load makes 1,300Watts. 1300W X 2Ω = 2600 √ = 51Vac.
Again the same amp at 4Ω makes 700Watts. 700W X 4Ω = 2800 √ = 44Vac.
How is it that the higher the wattage being sent to the subs, the lower the ac voltage produced by the amp?
