i plan on running 1200-1500 watts rms shoudl i go with 0 awg or will 4 awg be fine?
thats what i said. 0 and 1/0 are the same:fyi:Dont listen to him, go with 1/0.
either that or you're not running a true 900 rms.I'm currently running about 900 watts rms with just 8 gauge. Nothing cuts out, and my subs slam just the same as before I had added the (360 rms) 4 chan amp. I think wiring is slightly overrated for boasting rights.
bigger wiring is for higher current. higher current is for higher power.I'm currently running about 900 watts rms with just 8 gauge. Nothing cuts out, and my subs slam just the same as before I had added the (360 rms) 4 chan amp. I think wiring is slightly overrated for boasting rights.
if you have a welding supply store nearby, see if they have 0 welding cable. usually its pretty cheap and is great wire IMO. i use it and it only cost about $35 for 25 feet or $50 for 50ftthanks, i wasnt sure if 4 awg woudl be enough i think imma order a 0 awg kicker kit.
Alpine MRP-M500 ran at 2 ohms= 500+ RMS, Alpine underrates a little. MRP-F550, 4x90 RMS.either that or you're not running a true 900 rms.
doesnt matter if its rated to something, if its not getting the right amount of current, its not doing the powerAlpine MRP-M500 ran at 2 ohms= 500+ RMS, Alpine underrates a little. MRP-F550, 4x90 RMS.
