How big of an alt do I need?

Ive searched, didn't come up with anything that fit my exact bill.........

Opti2000d =1800 watts

eclipse amp = 300 watts

240a of current total.

I have stock electrical. HeadLights dimm very slightly amazingly, but i have some bad voltage drops. my lights on my guages dim too. I'm planning on doing the big 3 but I want to cure my voltage drop problem. I was thinking maybe a 150a alt? My sentra now has an 80amp alt. 1.8L engine if that matters.

NO one can answer your question with certainty. It isn't possible, too many variables. If anyone tells you that they can they are delusional. You are not drawing 240A ever so get that number out of your head. Do the big 3 and add a second battery and then see where you are.

Like I said, big 3 and battery first. See where you're at from there. You might be suprised to find that you really don't need much.

big 3 should help the voltage drop the most. so hurry and do that.

150A would be a nice upgrade, regardless, if it's in your budget. You'd probably be at least doubling available current throughout the rpm range.

I upgraded from 75A to 110A and it made a LOT of difference - running around 1000 rms.
