if someone will host it i will donate. it wouldnt do me any good to host it cause i only have a 60g HDwith all this music floatin around...someone should host a caraudio.com ftp server....
yes private = good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifactually I dunno, this community is huge. whoever even tried to start an ftp better have astronomical amounts of bandwidth...plus only a few users would ever be able to sign on at a time. it would probably **** more than it was good...
but if we did it on the private tip...now thats another story...
man...once I got DSL (only less than 2 months ago) all I've been doing is downloading...I have around 120 cds, and only 1 gig of down loads, but I only started collecting about a year ago, and with dial up, downloading sucks. I guess I will have to look into dsl or something.
hahahaha X2 here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifman...once I got DSL (only less than 2 months ago) all I've been doing is downloading...
0. Wake Up
1. Check to see if the stuff I was trying to download from previous sessions were completed...and usually end up trying to resume stuff or find alternate sources....while in the process I find more new albums to download....
2...go to work
3...go back home, do step 1
4. go to sleep
5. back to step 0
ftp = file transfer protocolhow do you make an ftp?
I think gauntlet, brock, and a few others would def have to be in on it, and of course myself, hehehe.
Im at college, could I just use the college connection?
whats bandwidth?
Ive got a 250gb HD and a 250gb external hd,i wouldnt mind doing something like this if we could all share lotsa music...ftp = file transfer protocol
basically you can set your computer up to be a host where people can connect through an ftp client to download / upload files. youre basically putting your hard drive online to share it with whoever has your ip, login name, and password...somewhat like your computer being logged onto a network.
you could use a college connection, it just depends on how its configured (im not a good person to ask about this)
bandwidth is amount of file transfer. for example if someone downloads a 100mb file from http://www.brocktologist.com ive used 100mb of bandwidth. some isp's and web prowiders put a limit on bandwidth meaning you can only transfer so much information in a months time.
