How are the Kicker CompR 12 inch subs?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and new to car audio.. I just want some advice before I start building my system.

The sub I am currently looking at is the Kicker CompR 12 inch 500 watts (1000 peak)

Here is a link: Kicker CompR 12" Dual-Voice-Coil 2-Ohm Subwoofer Black 40CWR122 - Best Buy

What are your opinions on it?

There is both a 2 ohm and 4 ohm option and I have no idea what that is or which is best.

Also, what kicker amp would be best to go with this? I only plan to have a single sub because I like having trunk space.

Thank you for all replies in advance.

just look at these woofers, they are in the same price range and compare it to your kicker comp R. Look at the @ss on both of them. which would you rather fk with. A hoe with no @ss or a big booty bad@ss b1tch?

Don't get kicker subs

Kicker built there reputation a long time ago (products where higher quality and there wasn't nearly as much competition in terms of competitor brands). There quality now a days is low, there prices hasn't adjusted to the times (overpriced), and there's many brands now a days that can humiliate there products in the same price range

Best analogy you could have used haha!

But the kicker has a cool switch that lets you change ohms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Seriously though don't get kicker. Even the SoundQubed HDS212 would be better than this kicker sub, and you'd save $10 lol.

the kicker compR is a good sub, a buddy of mine runs those. they get loud and sound good, just build a box for them. don't buy them and throw them in a prefab. i myself have kickers, the cvrs though. they sound ******* amazing.

The only reason I am looking at this sub is because I can get it for about $60 brand new, instead of the retail price of 120.
still wouldn't do it at 60 bucks. Pay 50 to 60 bucks more and get something with much higher output, better sq, and better construction (sundown e 12, American bass tnt, and soundqubed hds212 are real entry level subs, I wouldn't settle for anything less )
