i just picked up a T100001bd amp and the birthsheet said 1747 watts, are these close to being "real"watts?

has anyone tested rockford amp to verify?

if so,i got this one, and a ROCKFORD T3002 for my mids-highs,

1747 for the bd,around 800 for the 3002,not bad for 320 shipped for both!!!!

Birth sheets are a great marketing tool.

The first hurdle you are going to run into is maintaining the 14.4 volts of constant input voltage that they measured your amplifier at. After that, you will lose a little output power as your amplifier heats up.

Once the car is running at normal listening volume I would trim about 120 watts off of each of those amps. This is because your voltage will drop down to about 13.5-14.2 volts depending on how long the car is running.

The numbers on the birthsheets are true numbers. Yes, they are tested at a constant 14.4V......and I'm pretty sure that output number is reached using a 1K tone right at clipping rather than pink noise or music for input signal. So if you have a pretty strong alternator & battery setup, keeping up with 14.4V is obtainable and you'll get the most out of those amps. The T3002 was a little powerhouse.
