well, i've done quite a few installs. however, i'm gonna be doing one saturday for a friend that has a '00 silverado with a stock headunit. How am I gonna go about hooking up the remote wire and the rca's to the back of this headunit?

i have an idea but am not really sure. thanks

I would suggest that there will be no RCA preouts on the OEM Delco stereo. Most likely you're going to need an LOC to convert speaker-level outputs to RCA phono plugs to input to the amplifier.

I'm no electrical whiz but I would further assume that there won't be an appropriate output on the OEM deck to operate a remote turn-on input on an mp so you could go with wiring that into a switched accessory in the fusebox....you could go with an inline switch....a few different ways that could be done. But I'm no installer and I know little to nothing about the OEM decks going into GM's pickups nowadays.

you need an RCA line output converter

i have one for sale if your interested $10

never used it but its out of its packaging

and also you can get a switch from your local auto shop and just hook up the remote wire to the power wire going into the amp and put the other end in the remote section on your amp thats how i have my setup
