I'm helping a buddy of mine order a pair of subs for his 2008 Dodge Nitro. He wants to keep the factory radio. We're planning on ordering two Alpine Type-R subs, with either a Pioneer Premier 2-channel amp which will be running 300 watts rms (2 Ohms) to each sub.
My question is what is needed to hook up the amp to the stock radio? I searched around and read that a line level input is needed, but I was also told something like this is needed instead.

It's a bass restoration signal processor by MTX. I don't know a single thing about it except from whats in the description of the auction, so I'm assuming thats all there is to it. Does anyone know anything about this and/or if this is really needed?
Any help is appreciated.
