hooking up a bass boost contol remote help!!!

ok i went out to try that i turned my bass boost all the way down and turn the know on the remote down and when i went to turn the remote knob 1/4 turn the sub sounded like it blew to i turned it back down and just said forget about

i know that it is not but it will go into protect if you just plug it in like that.
You cannot always take any 'ole external control from any 'ole company and expect it to work properly with any given amp.

The Visonik controller may not be compatible with his Planet Audio amp. If the controller is wired differently than the control output on the amp it likely will see the discrepency and throw itself into protect to keep anything incompatible from causing damage.

Unhook the incompatible accessory and the problem goes away.

Of course, I could just be completely talking out of my *** and be totally wrong here but somehow I'm thinking that isn't the case...

A lot of time different remote controllers use different potentiometer values on the inside and it may be overloading your amp...
