Hood "pin" locks or cable type?

not to mention, depending on WHOS stealing your system, you may not want to know

a kid i graduated from high school with just recently walked in on some dude robbing his house, and he got shot and killed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif def. some scary shit

if someone wants your gear THAT bad, they're gonna have it, one way or the other

they probably don't have much to lose

.40 cal ftw.

hood pins are to keep carbon fiber hoods from destroying your car, not to keep people out.
can't you just lock your hood release?

Have you ever tried to unlock a primary hood release from the outside? My pull cable broke on the audi, and it's no easy task, my options were to drill a hole into the radaitor support, or climb underneath (which requires a jack) and fish around for a few hours with a clothes hanger to try and find the release, it's no joke.

and x1000, a crook would just kill the brain. do you think people imediately go into vigilant action when they hear a car alarm going off? I've seen car alarms going off in parking lots for 10-20 minutes, and nobody gives a shit, they could easily break a window, fumble around until they found the brain, and snip the power wire, no problem.

And if you're REALLY that paranoid, you could buy a battery backup, problem solved.
I can't lock the hood release. I do have a battery backup. I'm not going to go into specifics about my alarm, but you can't just fumble around and find the brain. It's in a hidden, non accessible place. I just want to go one step further to make sure that my hood cannot be opened.

Well if they are set out to do that, I would to give them as hard of a time as possible. The way I think of it is:

The better security,

The longer it takes them to jack me,

The more they're out in the open with the alarm blaring,

The higher the chance of them getting caught

THAT is the one solution.....
probably easier said than done, tho

i can't even imagine myself in that situation, and i hope i never have to, there's no way to know what happened exactly
its not hard at all to pull a gun on someone when you are in a bad situation, be sure to use your home to your advantage, and dont get close to them, just start squeezing that trigger.

My dad on his old old car had this steel cable thing that locked hood and u had to put key in by hood release to pop it. No ones gonna get into ur car without setting alarm off most likely so they break window and pop hood and cut cables to shut it off. So its good idea. I just got a battery back up siren so if they cut cables by going under or poping hood it goes off, but i got 2 way so ill be out there by that time to kill them. Im mostly worried about towing caz my shits to heavy to steal.

In FL, if you are unwelcomed on someones property, espesially if you are armed or breaking in, no questions asked if you are dead by the time the cops get there. Just a simple "hello sir, let us remove this corpse for you."

In FL, this sign isnt just a joke.

actually on all honda civic and acura integras, you can reach inside the bumper to the right of the front plate. reach in and up and you can pull the hood latch wire and it pops easy. My friend showed me and did it to my car without the alarm going off.
