Positive and negative battery cables. . . so nobody can simply pop the hood and cut the power to my alarm. I have a battery backup, but overkill is good.

If you can figure out how to pop the hood from the outside with out first poping up the release lever you are one hell of a theif.
Well, that's not what I intend these for. You can pop the hood from the inside, but the hood won't open unless you unlock the hood locks which will require a key or a hell of a lot of force.

Ok, so if they can get into the car without setting off the alarm why would they need to get to the hood to cut the power? Why not just locate the controll box and unplug it?

Control box? The brain right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ? It's impossible to get to without setting the alarm off.

Oh and I was looking at these:

You can snip the power wire to it, unplug it, what ever. If they can get into the car with out setting the alarm off, then pop the hood with out setting the alarm off they could get to the "brain" and not set it off. Hell if they are that good they could remove your equiptment and **** your girl friend with out setting the alarm off.

Well, that's where the hood lock comes in, so they can't pop the hood. In the event that the power does get cut, the battery backup will kick in along with a battery backed up siren. I don't want to get into the specifics of my alarm, but if a theif can successfully yank my brain out without setting anything off. . . he's got balls and skill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

hood pins are to keep carbon fiber hoods from destroying your car, not to keep people out.

can't you just lock your hood release?

Have you ever tried to unlock a primary hood release from the outside? My pull cable broke on the audi, and it's no easy task, my options were to drill a hole into the radaitor support, or climb underneath (which requires a jack) and fish around for a few hours with a clothes hanger to try and find the release, it's no joke.

and x1000, a crook would just kill the brain. do you think people imediately go into vigilant action when they hear a car alarm going off? I've seen car alarms going off in parking lots for 10-20 minutes, and nobody gives a shit, they could easily break a window, fumble around until they found the brain, and snip the power wire, no problem.

And if you're REALLY that paranoid, you could buy a battery backup, problem solved.
