Honestly, the new challenger = fail

Neon is the SRT4 and they are fast for what they are. Have you ridden in onw? My 5.7 is strong for a 4400lb car. The SRT8 is stock 425HP and easily upgraded to over 500HP. My R/T is 360HP and the torque is pretty impressive.
I have driven the neon.....it is wimpy IMO.

SRT4 was crap. I don't care what you do with it, at the end of the day it was still an ugly neon POS.

Dodge definately has the power plants, but the issue is that all their cars are heavy turds.. For instance the 450+ hp str8 challenger is not much faster than the 300hp mustang bullitt.. Sad story.. so in all, yes I would say the car is a big flop, but it does look pretty good.

I think I'd take this one....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept

Auburn Hills, Mich., Oct 14, 2008 - The opportunity for SRT engineering to “one-up” itself comes to fruition with the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept. Power for the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept comes from the Dodge Viper 8.4-liter, all-aluminum V-10 engine with 600 horsepower and 560 lb. ft. of torque. This new halo concept delivers the well-known SRT credo of benchmark performance. The Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept includes a fresh coat of Tornado Red paint with a carbon-fiber deck lid and hood. The “shaker hood” is a nostalgic representation of the 1970 HEMI Cuda, giving the 600-hp Viper V-10 engine room to breathe. Brakes have been upgraded and BILSTEIN® shocks at all four corners improve handling balance. The interior boasts sport seats and carbon-fiber accents throughout and, of course, true to the Viper-powered vehicle lineage, a red engine start push-button in the dash.

It's essentially a two-door version of the Charger SRT8. Both carry the identical 6.1-liter Hemi V8 — a bored-out version of the standard 5.7-liter motor. Both run the same 10.3:1 compression ratio. Both gulp 91-octane gasoline. Both make the same 425 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. And the coolant capacity? The same 14 quarts. At 4,140 pounds and 4,160 pounds, both are heavyweights.

whoa whoa whoa, hold the train a second...

are you suggesting that auto manufacturers use the same parts on different cars? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

This is why ill drive almost anything Pre 90's and almost nothing past that with the exception of a 92 mustang and some other misc things, i hate all this computer ****, Its more to go wrong. Im only 16 but with the way my family is and the way i grew up i have a huge appreciation the old muscle cars of the 60's and 70's. I hate people comparing new cars to old cars because even if the new challenger was exactly the smae as the old one appearence wise it would still be computer **** under the hood.
