Honda S2000 Subwoofer *Help/Advice/Input Needed*

how much u wanna spend
Well the box that you said your friend makes is $50, so wish shipping that would be around $75 i guess.

I just bought a component set. I got the polk db series 6.5". I know they aren't the greatest in the world, but I figured it was a pretty good deal for $120 shipped. Also, the mounting depth is only 2"! So it was pretty much the only decent set I could get that would actually fit! And there is already a 4 channel alpine v-power amp in the car which is hooked up to the stock components. I have never even heard those components, ever heard them? The polk db series that is.

Anyways, so I've already spent $120 on components. $75 for a box that can save me some trunk space wouldn't be bad. I'd like to spend about $250-500 on a decent sub and monoblock amp. Any recommendation are appreciated?

I'm not a huge audiophile, and I'm an RN, so I don't spend a lot of time dealing with car audio. However, i'm a music fanatic, and I like all types of music. Mostly rock stuff like alice in chains, kings of leon, smashing pumpkins, bush, some acoustic stuff, etc. But sometime I like some hip-hop. I like loud, but I would much rather have good sound, if that helps any.

you wanna put a 10 or 12's
I don't really have a preference. Either a 10 or 12 would do for me. Only thing is, those enclosure about about .7 or .8 cubic feet I believe. So after the displacement of the woofer, I guess we're looking at around .55 cubic feet give or take a little...

RE Audio SE12
amazing sub

cant beat that price
Yeah, I was actually looking at one of those. I def like the older models better than the new ones. I just might have to pick me up one of those! They're def a sexy little sub!

But if I had about 500 watts to a sub, and about 150 going to some components, would i need an extra battery?.... Just curious. I used to have an audio setup, and I had a little capacitor, and it actually did help, even though I've heard people say that they don't.

Also, will the RE SE 12" work with about .5 or .6 cubic feet???

Cuz i think that is the biggest thing when it comes to selecting a woofer.

S2CarbonWorks is the other company building the corner boxes. They're pretty close to the same price, I think ~$179, so still probably a little more than you're looking to spend.

I'm about 99% I'm going that route, so I'll post up some pics when I get it together. I'm trying to keep mine where I can also remove it, since I do some AX/HPDE type events (and I like to lighten up).

Good luck with everything!

the box is 1 cub and .15 disp so you will have .85 they recomend .75 to 1 cub so its perfect
You're right, I was thinking about the specs of the other box. Yeah, that RE 12" should work perfect. I've always wanted to try out a Resonant Engineering sub because I've heard a lot of good things about them.

That Eclipse has a nice little price tag on it, thanks for the help. The H/U in the car is an eclipse, and I really like it.
No problem. If you're not sure about the DC sub I recommended, the SE is a pretty good alternative. I had 4 of them not long ago.

The DC is nice, though. And it's got a "nice little pricetag" too...
