If anyone remembers my last thread, i was having trouble getting a dash kit for my '03 honda pilot because the head unit is below where it usually is because I have the nave (the nav is where the stock hu is, and the stock hu is lower on the center console). I finally nutted up and cut the dash kit up that I had, and installed it. The only problem is - I cut the top lip off so the little air conditioning/heat control module would fit.. which left a gap below between the dash kit and the end of the panel. Even with the lip cut off, the heating thing has to be tilted back a bit to fit in place.
Another problem is that the dash kit sticks out a bit. If I put pressure on it it snaps back in place but doesn't stay that way.
Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe somehow get a sheet of ABS and use whatever the plastic smoothing stuff is to make it stay together for the bottom lip?
