Doubt it , sounds like the coil pooped out and dead shorted the amp . And the protection didn't kick in on the amp in time to save it.

Ot shameless plug for Sundown amplifiers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif - the sundowns we used at the 12" test session had no problem in this area. Blew several coils , amps went into protect many a times , and came out of protect each and everytime. Come to think of it Lilmaniacs hifonics didn't seem to have a problem with it either .
