so i was driving home from worked and stopped at a red light. i was first in line to go when it turned green. all of a sudden i see a jeep liberty barreling down the other lane as the red light turned. red stayed for 1, 2, 3 and BOOOM!, a big *** cat truck hits her right quarter panel. so i go up the road about a quarter mile to turn back and talk to a cop bc afterall i WAS a witness. well, as i was heading back the other way, i see that the jeep is laying on its top. driveshaft also snapped from the impact. the lady hit her head real bad but she would have been dead if she hadnt been wearing her seatbelt...

just thought id share my adrenaline rush for the year...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

pictures?

^^ Except multiply that speed by like 50. It's all about impulse (change in momentum). Slowing down over a longer period of time saves your life (seatbelts w/ airbags) versus slowing down shorter (slamming into glass).

newtons laws of motion FTW

"An object in motion tends to stay in motion...UNLESS STOPPED BY A SEATBELT ;)"

airbags still hurt like a ***** though.

Anyone ever hear of people being killed because they wore a seatbelt. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
i've never heard of anyone getting KILLED because they were wearing a seatbelt, if it was worn properly. there was a girl over here that got into an accident, and she had automatic seatbelts, but she wasn't wearing the lapbelt, just the shoulder one, and it ruptured her kidney because all the pressure was on her lower side instead of all throught her torso. i believe she ended up dying.

this is ****ed up too... my uncle and aunt were driving in an explorer, she had her seatbelt on and he didn't, they got hit by a drunk driver in the rear corner of the car, the car flipped about four times and they landed on the trunk. Her having a seatbelt on resulted in her being quadrapalegic(sp) and him without a seatbelt on, all he had was a cut on his knee that needed stitches.

I know my teacher stalled on a train track and if he had his belt on he wouldn't have been able to get to the other side of the car and save his life. Embellished no doubt, but still interesting.
