Holy crap this beer tastes like ****

I've tried a beer that's aged in Whiskey barrels. It has a lot of layers of flavor and isn't heavy like a lot of the darker micros.John John Dead Guy Ale:

John John Dead Guy Ale - Rogue Ales - Newport, OR - BeerAdvocate

Black Butte Porter is good, if you like beer with more of a coffee flavor.
i've had some brewdog beers that were aged in either whiskey barrels and scotch barrels. you'd have to be a fan of whiskey or scotch to enjoy them.

you have your entire life to drink, no reason to start early. in summary, alcohol is a waste of money and a cause for fatness and laziness. it is a large catalyst for domestic abuse. nothing good has come from alcohol - except some neglected children...

And we all know how good neglected children are. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

don't age beer in a fridge (slows the process). put them in a cabinet in a basement or area that remains cool year round. no light should be able to get at it.
two things hurt beer: heat and light (UV).

after being aged, it's 10x better.
It'd be a beer fridge. I wouldn't keep it particularly cold, it'd just be a stable environment. I don't have a cellar or a cabinet that stays cool. I'm in southern California man.

And I've just heard of Brew Dog last week, I've been meaning to look them up. Someone mentioned their 40% abv beer Tactical Nuclear Penguin or something. Piqued my interest to say the least.

a buddy of mine ordered one. said it was an experience. think he paid around $110 for a 12oz bottle.

spoke with a buddy. i'll be driving to Madison, then riding the bus to/from with him and others. no car at Potosi.
I live about 30 mins away from madison, let me know where this bus station is and how much and what not and I might have to drive my car up there and not risk a DUI.

sweet. the bus ride is $15 for both trips. can't beat that. i'll verify the pickup/dropoff location. at a minimum, you're welcome to meet me before or after.

yea, i'll say this. you either bring a DD, or you take a bus. driving from there is not recommended. granted, a DUI in WI is treated like jaywalking in IL. i was flat out hammered when i left last year. it was a rough night. this year i'll pace myself and recognize it's not a drinking competition. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

It takes me a lot to get drunk... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif But yeah that would be cool, two engineers talking about car audio and drinking what could be more fun... hahahahha
