A nice, functional search function would be nice. I use terms that I KNOW are in old posts and it doesn't find what I'm looking for 9 times outta 10.

Gotta love how almost the entire forum was defending BassMaster when he first came on, trying to protect him from us "evil" mods, and then, when everyone found out what we knew, you all turned against him ... The mods couldn't possibly ever do something for an actual legitimate reason ... Nope, we're all just power abusing, immature, post wh0res ...

Disabling post count will do NOTHING ... Do you guys honestly think that the post wh0res simply do it to up their post count ? Maybe a few, but most do it because they just want to fvck around for fun ...

Lounge = For Off-Topic threads (not relating to car audio, automobiles, home audio, etc. which have specific sections).

Off-Topic Posts = Posts which are off the topic of the thread. It doesn't matter if it's in the lounge or not, if you're dragging the thread off the original topic, it's grounds for post deletion. If the thread is deemed "unrecoverable" through post deletions, it will be closed or deleted.

Is that a more clear definition ?

All of the suggestions above are pretty good. I'll just list some I've noticed at other forums that I think are worthwhile.

Classifieds section

-Post Count limit for new F/S threads.

-Ranking section listed next to or under avatars listing positive feedback (+) and negative (-).

-Specific dealer section for those reputable dealers that wish to offer a special deal or two.

General forum changes

-Temp ban power for mods (as mentioned). All mods must agree to temp ban one member.

-Rating system in percentage increments (%). They use this on Honda-Tech and it works well. Once you get to zero % you get banned.

-When a new member joins he should be directed to read all of the posted stickies and announcements before he can post anything (scroll down and click a "I have read this" box at the bottom).

PM's, forum smilies etc

-higher character count per PM

-built in spell checker (for those of us who don't run a PC)

I have another silly request. Can we get the forum back to a car audio discussion forum. This used to be a pretty decent forum, particularly for new guys. Now a days seems everyone is more interested in bashing, than helping. i agree with johne for the most part except on the hondatech thing (i've been a member for quite a while) im not big on the percentage thing because its only the mods that can change it and it can't get any higher so it makes even the biggest idiots and newbs equal for the most part

No likey. If you're going to make the process that slow, might as well just leave it how it is now.

The whole purpose behind it is to suspend an account swiftly in situations where necessary......not to sit around and wait a day or two for all of the mods (or even a majority of mods) to log on and investigate the situation.

There's no reason a single mod shouldn't have the ability to temporarily suspend an account for 24-48 hours till Goobs can review it. Believe it or not, we are intelligent and use our powers within the limitations of our authorization.

The entire member base doesn't always agree with our actions....but they likewise never know the full story either. So then everyone jumps to conclusions about how we're just power abusing post *****s.......
