HO alt problems/questions

so my old alt was 105amps. got a HO one that is 165ampps (didnt get bigger because it causes belt noise with my car)....well now tonight after delivering and driving around all night i pop my hood and its only reading 13.6--13.7 but once i first installed it my volt meter was reading 14.6 steady. all i have in the car right now is:
sound stream 760.2 running my front comps

dsc4125 runing my rear speakers (bridged)

a red top up front

two kinetik hc 600's

NO BIG 3

no real system in my car....any ideas?

when you read the 14.6, was that as soon as you installed and started the car up?

Or did you let the car run for 10 mins to let everything warm up.

Cold an alt puts out more votlage, after everything warms up the voltage drops

well with my old alt afer driving around and no system it would read 14.4...also once i started it up with theho alt it read 14.6 but after driving around awhile it was 13.6--13.8

lmao, no. Voltage doesnt reflect Alternator output.

I meant when I had an HO alt on my xterra it didnt produce the 180 amps until around 2500 rpms, so untill then my voltage was like 13.5 ish and rose when I hit higher rpms

so you guys think everything is good? this weekend im check the voltage with my dmm and make sure the voltage meter is reading correctly
