HO alt but no back ups YET

is it okay to install an Ho alt of 200 amps if i dont have an back up battery? dont have the funds YET to get the battery til prob another week or so, would this over charge the front battery or would it run fine?

put it in it only will produce the load requested. It will not overcharge anything unless it is the wrong voltage one like a racing alternator on a regular car. just read the sticky about HO alts.

depends what you are running you might not even need a rear battery with a big front batt up front and a HO alt.

no worries about the HO alt on stock batt just to the big three and replace the front batt first and than add a rear batt

that was well said with that alternator he is right you may now be fine where you are at. toss it in and see.

thanx guys, but i can't put anything bigger than a kinetik 1400 lol, even with that i need custom brackets, i have an integra, It can't fit anything big. and i've done the big 3. regardless imma need one in the back, just haven't decided on it

ive had my 250 EA alt on for about half a year with stock batt and no back batts, doing fine

.. havent been able to use my 2 saz 1500's yet :/
