Hmm.. Why won't it work?

Alright guys.. I have 2 10" MA Audio 1000watt subs and a MA Audio 2000watt amp. Do you think if i put a yellow top in to replace my other battery it would still dim my lights?

I had a couple 12's but someone stole those haha..anyways.. i used to have the yellow top in the trunk and a relay ran to it. I tried to do it again like that but for some reason there isn't any power getting to the amp. I don't know what else to do to make it work eh.. i could be wiring something wrong but i'm pretty sure i did it right atleast once out of the 1000 times..any suggestions would help. Thanks

Upgrading the battery is a good idea to improve your electrical systems performance but it will not stop the voltage fluctuations that are causing your headlights to dim.

I strongly suggest you invest in a higher amperage alternator, something in the 140 to 200 amp range to help combat voltage drops.

A battery will only store energy, the alternator actually creates it, if your amplifiers consume more energy then your alternator generates then you will get severe fluctuations in voltage.

Well i have a relay connecting the 2 batteries and the alternator charges one then the other and so on. It was working fine on my previous system, I just can't get it to work again.

Jack frost is our resident specialist on multi battery set ups, maybe give him a pm and see what he says, I don't have the nessesary experience to help you with multi battery applications.

Sqeak9798 is another guy that would be able to help.

well i got it to work by accidently dropping a socket onto a wire and making a big explosion lol..dont ask.. thanks though
