I just got done running new 4AWG power wire and ground to my Alpine MRV-F450 amp..... Before I had 8AWG....

Before i didnt have any hiss. Now i do...... I used exactly the same ground as before, and only difference is the wire (upgraded wire for future upgrades)

Any idea?

It cannot be my HU, because when i unplug the RCAs from my amp I still get a hiss.

its noticable only at low volumes are if the volume is set to 0...

actually i think that is your headunit if it happens while the rca's are disconnected. i had to actually ground my h/u to a screw behind the dash to fix that problem. the stock grounds on the wiring harness ****. and is your deck a pioneer? you may need to ground the preouts.

amp gets signal from HU

if their is still the hiss when the amp is disconnected from the HU, then it cant be the amp.

leaving up with the HU

got an idea, is the hiss there with the car off? It its only then when the car is running, try reving the engine to see if the hiss sound changes. Might be alt whine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

let me re say my setup....

I have my speakers hooked up to my amp. If i disconnect the RCAs i still get the noise....... No way it can be my HU since my HU isnt even attached to my speakers... I think i found the answer. BRB to test it out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

they were never even close to the power cable in the first place //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I cant figure it out, its not ground (tried 2 different locations), RCAs unplugged still makes noise. I guess it has to be the amp, or something to do with the power. Because it still makes the noise even with the engine off..... (but the car on)..

so im confused

.. ha....?, just because I dont know much about car electronics, doesnt mean i dont know much about cars..... Brake light fluid, lol.................................

..|..

I fixed the hiss from my speakers, but my sub (different amp) still makes a *hiss noise*. Cant figure it out
