Hiss\static\white noise after upgrading ground.

I recently upgraded my grounds, big 2 I suppose, as well as changing my battery terminal(brass walmart basic terminal). I have a hiss\static\white noise all the time however on louder music it is mostly drowned out. I have since grounded my HU to chassis and tested my amp ground(1.1 ohm, same as the 15ft piece of 4 ga i used to test it) but it didn't help. Any insight? I also have a occasional pop when I change tracks but that was present before big 2 grounds upgraded. Hiss is not alt noise as it occurs with car off as well as on and doesn't change with speed\ rpm.

I am not sure if its only the tweeters but it is mostly the tweeters. I just tried attaching my ipod with mini to rca adaptor to amp and have same sound so now i am not sure if its a defective amp(mb quart dsc 4125 few weeks old) or some weird ground problem. Do you think running a ground from battery would fix it assuming its some kinda ground problem?

i tried filters, blockers, unplugging amps, replugging with different leads, the whole nine but again dont recall what the problem was. trial and error my friend, thats all you can do at this point....hey, maybe you'll learn something!

OP, are you running rca and power on the same side of the car? Rule of thumb " Power wire and remote on one side of the car and RCA and speakerwire on the other. This reduces the chance of flux interferince from power draws off the power lines." That can cause signal disturbance. Also They have RCA's that have a gounding loop that you can connect to the source and amps. The other thing to do is make sure your not crossed anywhere and all your contact points are making a clean solid connection.

Hm. I'll have to see if I'm getting any white noise from my passenger speaker then

Power on different side of car and the static is there even when I plug the amp directly into my ipod(mini to rca cable) so its not hu\ rca. Ever since I upgraded ground I have this problem so I guess i will remove updated grounds and hope hiss goes away and my amp is not bad already just never heard of anyone having problems increasing grounds usually its other way around.

I have white noise aswell on one of my amps.. its the same white noise when you turn the gain ALL the way up but the gains are all the way down and still.. even with volume down.. Now then the amp is an oldschool so idk what it could be..

did you use the factory grounding locations with upgraded wire or did you use new ground locations? where are your grounds? pics?

it's very odd that you still get static with the HU rca's unplugged. that points to an issue with the amp.

I hope it is your problem so you can have it solved.
Turns out it was because I listen to music through my flash drive. I don't understand why, but that's the only source I get noise from. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
