Highly Efficient comps?

Here's the situation....after hearing my new PG RSd65cs speakers my dad has decided he wants to upgrade the speakers in his Honda Element. He doesn't want to replace the head unit and would like to avoid replacing the stock amp as well. The stock amp puts out about 20 w rms x 4 to the speakers. I was wondering if there are any good sets of components efficient enough to give good output at this low level of power? Also, I believe mounting depth for the front speakers is an issue and the deepest I believe he can go safely is 2.75". Any suggestions on speakers?

I forgot to say... the output of the stock amp is 20 x 4 rms @ 4 ohms.

For you situation I would recommend the Kamma series from Cdt Audio. Their tweeters are sweet and are highly efficient, also the the mid woofer on this series are shallow mounts.

Any other suggestions? What efficiency rating should I consider to be high enough? I want maximum output and sound quality while still using the stock amp.

Pioneer Rev sound good on low power, but I can't guarantee it would be worthwhile to just upgrade speakers. I would change out the whole system and add more power.

Once I had Focal 165V comps and sounded good with just HU.

Focal comps are high efficient.

thanks for mentioning that, i like Focals and only could hear em with an amp hooked up, and might get some and run them off the HU for a bit, till i can save up some more money for a decent 2ch amp

and i was at an audio shop on saturday cos i was bored and heard JL, Eclipse, Orion, and Pioneer comps with no amp for a lil bit and they all sounded pretty efficient

the Pioneers were the PRS ones and idk they were just okay for me, i thought the others sounded better, i think it was the postioning cos they were the farthest apart and on a funny spot on the sound board, but from what i hear on this forum, they are good speakers

Should 92 and above be consider "highly efficient"? I was looking at some of the Infinity speakers.

The stock "amp" isn't really much of an amp. I'd really rethink not adding one
