Hifonics Zeus vs Brutus series amplifiers?

My amp doesn't get warm nor do my subs even after hard beating at 1 ohm
Might get 3 more to run my x's...if i can get 1k watts out of each amp i'll be fine.

my amp never got all that warm, ill give you that. they will make power, too, but its ugly. and its been shown time after time. The maxxsonics are way more reliable, and get closer to rated without clipping.

I would use one at 2 ohms all day long, though. Its a great 900 watt amp@2 ohms.

My amps will be in the trunk so I'll never see them lol

If I can strap two and get 2k watts cleanly then it works for me.

If all else fails, back to plan A with a BC5500D

thats not what i meant by ugly. I meant ugly looking sine waves. Watch the @TaylorFade ; video of his clamp. its crazy. and yeah, a couple of apsm1500's would probably get you a nice, clean 2k. i can't argue with that. but that's getting dang near the price of some quality-built 2k.

I'd consider higher quality brands that have been refurbished. Most companies offer warranty on them and sell cheap! If you break it you can fix it or throw it away. I bought a cadence z1200 refurbished and have been using it for over two months now, no problems at all. Very nice amp. Although... I'm not stressing it either..

$226 is pretty far off from a high quality 2k amp, even my brz2100 cost more than that.

And I would need 2k at 2 ohms, which would cost even more.

You are getting close to the AQ and Crescendo. Hifonics is not considered high quality. Lol

But thats 2k at 1 ohm, I'd need 2k at 2 ohms

And I didn't say it was high quality, I meant even a budget amp costs more than $225 for 2k watts

High quality is even higher. And I normally don't buy used amps.

I feel like, if your amp needs a million threads and a million people to try and get the sumbish to show that it does close to rated, it shouldn't even be considered to use in your ride.

Maybe that's just me though. I prefer to know my amp does rated plus without having to have someone verify that for me online....

Man agree. I like an amp that does more than rated! Same with subs too though. Take more of a pounding than what it thinks it can. Lol

aspm 1500 does around 980 rms at 1ohm its been clamped
