Which one would be better to push two jl 12w1v2's @ 4ohm?

Should I get the one that would do recommended wattage to the subs or should I get the one that has more power just for good measure?

Im pretty sure I want the Hifonics ZXi 1006 but im just asking to make sure

I would go with the older one.From expierence my cousin used to have the 05 silver model 4 channel hifonics amps,to power his spealers,and it got them loud.They upgraded to the 06 line the one with black case,and the loud level decreases by alot,we messed with every setting on the amp,gain,hp filter,everything,and it doesent sound as loud,by alot too.Just ,my 2 cents.

Nope.

No. The best situation is to wire your subs so that they are at a low load, like 1 ohm, then get a mono amp that is rated for that.

edit: Your subs are 4 ohm so you can wire them for 2 ohms. I'd get this Hifonics Brutus mono amp.

It would be more than you need, but headroom is always good.

2 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel / Parallel

Connecting the voice coils of each driver in parallel (+ to +, - to -) and the drivers themselves in parallel (+ to +, etc.) will result in the following impedances:

Dual-6 Ohm Subwoofers: 1.5 Ohms

Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm

Dual-2 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.5 Ohm

Dual-1.5 Ohm Subwoofer: 0.38 Ohms

I can run two Type R's at 1 Ohm? If I wire it like that should I use this amp then?
