Hifonics Marketing, or Truth?

My point is you have nothing to back your statement. They are nothing great. I wouldn't waste a dime on them.
that's your big O!!what do u have to back up your statements, every post i see you're ragging on every amp company , acting like you know more, than people that actually runs them about .i guess you've owned every amp ever produced. **** man, that's why there's more than one car audio manufactory. they are great for the people that can afford them.

Just guessing here, but being that Maxxsonics is a big company, and sells "tons" of amps, they may have underfused them just a little hoping the fuses would blow if someone got real crazy with the amps rather than the amp burning the persons car to the ground because of a fire because the fuse didn't blow, then proceeding to sue Maxxsonics for their loss and distress.... If the person had kept blowing fuses then took it upon themself to put BIGGER fuses in the amp, then their car burns to the ground then it's not Maxxsonics fault, the person knowingly changed the fuses to larger than recommended. I don't remember ever seeing an owners manual for an amplifier that said its okay to change the fuses to bigger ones, they always have it in bold print or soemthing noticable teling you DO NOT change the fuses to a higher current rated fuse.

^ very possible IMO

The Brutus amps are not in the "expert" price range, they know a lot of people just getting into big subs and big power are running these amps. Why not give them one more line of protection?

If an amp is used correctly an 80A fuse can EASILY allow enough current to deliver 1200w worth of music power. Heavy clipping or full volume test tones, however, might blow the fuse.

My 1000w Zed sub amp is on a 60A fuse at the fuse block. It's never blown, not even blasting Bass Mekanik.

BTW - I'm not sticking up for HF. I've never run one of their amps. I just don't think its wise to write off a line of amps based on flawed assumptions. Especially when newbs are prone to read things like that and run with it like it's written in stone.

They may well be over-rated, but the fuse size doesn't begin to provide enough evidence to say that.

They're built like shit, use junk parts, they are over rated and Chinese trash. I think that sums it. Not all Hifonics amps are bad, the high end stuff is really nice, but the cheap ones are garbage. I've ran many different amps, worked on all kinds from Audioson to Stetsom, but not everything single amp. I'm allowed to have an opinion just like everyone else and if you don't like it then don't read my post.

In bold, learn to spell and use the correct word *Manufacturer* and quit acting like a baby because I don't like an amp.

Which makes sense because most people that install equipment themselves have no idea what they are doing.

how are u gonna tell people how to rate their amps?? my god Just don't buy it
It's called an opinion. You don't like it then stfu & gtfo.

based on fusing, american bass must also overrate.just look at the 150.1,its rated at 2900 rms and fused at 200 amps???

http://americanbassusa.com/front/showcontent.aspx?fileid=99
The website used to say 3,000 rms. I remember back when the old site said 150watts for that amp. With AB there's no telling. Their ratings are all screwy. If you were to ask Bob 5 different times what an amp was rated you would get 5 different answers.

you're right, grinder is right everyone!!!. i can't spell( didn't know i was in a spelling contest) maybe the amps you run in your systems are junk too and chinese trash. f.y.i maxxsonics amps are made in korea, just like most of the amps on the market today. i'm sorry i read the post before i look to see who wrote it, so i don't have a choice but to read it. I'VE NEVER SEEN AN AMP BLOW STILL IN THE BOX, IF YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR STUFF, THEN IT WON'T BREAK. I have two cheap *** lanzar vibes,1200d's that i paid 200 each for, 9 years ago, and they are still running strong in my daily driver. i guess that's sum chinese stuff that beat the odds huh

No, your lanzar vibes are Korean.

And no not all of Maxxsonics amps are Korean made, the Brutus series and all of the lower end stuff they offer in their other brands says "Made in China" on the box. Their LARGE amps like the XXV say "Made in Korea" on the box. Only once have I seen a Maxxsonics large amp, it is an Autotek MM4000.1D said "Made in China" on the amp, but this amp came in a plain white box, I think it was a refurb.

As far as I know unless you are talking about little Wal-Mart amps that use the little 22 watt x 4 chips that normally go in the back of radio (head units) like rampage, V3 or whatever it's called, the really small wal-mart amps those I think are made in China, but as far as I know a few years back the Chinese were not making amps at all. This is fairly new, I think someone from a well-known Korean amp factory (a good one too) packed up and moved to China and started his own amp-board company using designs that he had created or dealt with in Korea. Problem is everything has been cheapened down so bad that the amps they make are powerful yes, but won't last, the PCB's in them are made of cardboard or something real cheap like that, it aint no good I can tell you that. And the amps smell funny on the inside too, I am not sure if it's the glue's they use or the solder, but something aint right....

My amps are all US made. PPI ProMos 450 and Mmats D200HC and as well as a US amps Crossover. I've always ran Korean and stayed away from china as much as possible.

Thanks DB-r for correcting him.

There's a differance between having an opinion and just inexperienced internet BS trash talking.

Please explain why they are "built like shit", "use junk parts", "over rated Chinese trash".

You know, first tell us about your experience as an electronic engineer or electronic technician and tell us specificially about which components you are refering to and perhaps how they are "junk parts".

If you could be specific enough, I will have our engineer of 26 years to address each issue and reply directly to you.

Your comments are not opinions. You are making statements as though you have some kind of experience in design, engineering and have an understanding of electronic components.

It's ok to not like our company or our products as well as have a poor opinion regarding anything we make and I respect differances of opinions.

It's what makes us work harder to improve ourselves.

Also, don't trash other peoples spelling skills and then post "but not everything single amp." (I beleive "thing" was the extra word) because it makes you look like a keyboard commando.

Well here's an idea, instead of spending all the money on heatsinks, DROP THE FAIRCHILD OUTPUTS AND POWERSUPPLY FETS. You guys use 064N's and 360LC's in the bigger amps, put them in the smaller ones so they run better. IRF makes the best parts, you know that. Second, lay the **** parts down on the sink, this makes them less prone to vibration damage and making the part legs crack off the board. Quit having the Chinese build your amps. I don't need to explain credentials or talk to your engineers. You guys build a budget amp and then when people bring it to your attention that quality has been sacrificed for a ****ing blinking light in the heat sink, you get all defensive and start trying to debunk the truth. I will never buy a Maxxsonics amp that isn't expensive because you don't take the time to build a solid budget amp.

I do have to say that I like all the big amps except the Crunch GP 3000. The Sampson is an awesome amp and so was my old Cyclops.

Also I'm not trash talking and I'm not stating that there are better amps, I'm judging your quality of amplifiers, nothing more.

I like it how everyone trashes the brutus line saying they **** because they are over rated, all they would have to do is take a 1200w amp, rate it at 1000w, and they would the new forum boner, im sure alot of companies do that anyways. Look at the power you get for the price v the ratings
