So i heard Hifonics is coming out with their XXV lines in the beginning of January of 2007. Is this true?

Here are the specs I hear about these amps :

* Safe operating voltage up to 19.5 volts

* The 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 & 10,000 watt rating is only

at 13.8 volts! At 18 volts is gonna be stupid powerful

* Parametric EQ

* Pre-clip, soft clip, optimim and hard clip indicators on

amp and remote (perfect to add to your podiums)

* 10-15% greater efficiency (the 3000 & 4000 for battery

limited applications in street classes are gonna be

unbeleivable)

* Massive, massive power supply section

* Proprietary Chip set design

I have a feeling they are going to be pretty expensive....

The new GENXXV series amps will be available in January at CES.

The new design offers many upgrades from the original XX series.

We learned a lot about high power amps through 18 months of serious high level competition.

We learned what works and what doesn't under many types of conditions and competition classes (too many to list all).

What works for Street classes doesn't always work in Street Max or Extreme vehicles and vise-versa.

We learned a lot and made many, many changes, upgrades and brought in some brand new proprietary technologies

The XX series were RMS power rated at 13.8 volts, 1-Ohm for mono amps and 2-Ohms bridged for the Dual Mono Block series.

They of course produced much more power at higher voltage and lower impedance.

The new XXV amps are under-rated RMS power points at 13.8 volts and intended impedances (1-Ohm for mono amps and 2-Ohms for Dual Mono Blocks).

Everything Ali1 said is true except the power points are

Mono amps: 3000, 4000, 5000 & 8000 watts

Dual Mono Block: 3200 x 1 @ 2-Ohms (2 x 1600 at 1-Ohm), 10,000 x 1 @ 2-Ohms bridged ( 2 x 5000 at 1-Ohm)

They are extremely stable up to 19.5 volts (dB drag does not permit over 18 volts)

Because of the use of a lot of new technologies, we increased the efficiency from 12 to 15% on all models (we were already one of the most efficient amps), reduced THD & N, added additional outpput devices, heavier pcb and traces, cusomed designd "Expanded Ulta D-Class" chip set and many more improvements.

Were not here to brag about the new products or say our amps are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but rather just give you a little heads-up on whats new with us and I'm hoping that you can appreciate a little inside info.

CES will bring even more information and you can look forward to some "real world tests" when competitors get them in their cars.

That's always the real test of how a product works.

I hope this helps.

I'm going to visit this forum more often to answer questions when I can.
