Which voice coil configuration do you have on that Type R?

If you have the Dual 2 and the coils are wired in series to a 4 Ohm load then you wouldn't be seeing much wattage out of that HiFonics monoblock.

It would be even more true if you had the Dual 4 Ohm version wired in series to an 8 ohm load - you'd be getting around half of the amp's rated 4 Ohm output.

What coils does your Type R have and in what manner are they wired?

if you mean the remote bass boost knob, disconnect it from the amp, it makes it sound like poopoo. The first thing I did when I got my bxi1206d was chuck the remote knob.

Something's def wrong. Double check all your wiring.

my bxi2006d with gain half way up gets my XXX to move serious air (wired 2 ohms).

I use the bass knob on my BXi2006d all the time. I'm very picky with sound, but using the knob to adjust the subs volume sounds perfectly fine to me so I'm not sure what everyones *****ing about. Using the bass knob for my application is cleaner than using my HU's sub volume lvl or adjusting it with my epic 150.
