i have a hifonics bxi 2608 amp i wanna get Audioque HDC418 but im not sure if my amp will push out enough power to truly handle this sub. Any pointers on this or should i get a different sub all together or another amp?

i'll b putting it n a ford escape 4 cyclinder wit a small battary but i have installed an extra battery and added a 2.5 farad capacitor.

With my old set up which was a single 12" hdc4 (which is less efficient than the 18" hdc4) running off an aq 2200 at .5 ohm before imp rise. It sounded pretty good and got pretty loud. I then switched that amp out to the sundown saz-3500d and it sounded way cleaner and got a whole lot louder.

My point being is that off that hifonics amp, itll get pretty loud but if you want that sub to really start doing some damage to your car, then get a bigger amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had a Hifonics bxi 1210 on my HDC3 18 and it was pretty loud for what it was, pushed out the lows great. Definitely a beastly amp, although after getting the bxi 2010 I am less impressed with the output.

But like the guy said above, Hifonics is mainly budget minded, it will push it fine for what it is, but if you really want it to shine I would suggest spending more on a better amp.

I love my Amp! But I think I could have got better numbers with a saz 3500. You will definitely need some really good electrical to run any high powered amp. But like I said, I love my Hifonics and it's been good to me, but these guys have a good idea suggesting you can find better power for a little bit more money.

yellow tops have been surpassed in battery tech, look at deka, xs, and batcap batts...

if you're looking to spend 600 on alt, batt, and amp combined, you'll have a very hard time. if you're looking to spend 600, i would say look at AQ amps... the 3500 can be had for around 550, or you could pick up 2 2200's for around 600 on here... just depends on what ohm load you're looking to run

here's the deal... having to push rated power or higher for good results is a myth... it has ALOT more to do with enclosure. if you're planning on running that low of a impedance, you're going to need very substantial electrical upgrades to run 3k+ safely.

Thanks alot everyone im goning back to the drawing boards and starting from scratch....

this time imma do alot more research on wat i buy

once again thanks for all your help
