Sold HiFonics BX1000D

500wrms @ 2 ohms

250wrms @ 4 ohms

Do know though, that the BX line of amps from HiFonics is knows to be a bit overrated. Count on more like 800wrms from the amp at 1 ohm. It's still a great little amp, but it's probably not going to put out a true 1000wrms, though I've never had it bench tested. For the money though, it's tough to beat!

100w isn't going to make a lick of difference sound wise. The only difference it'll make is that you know you're putting out 100w less than you'd ideally like to be. To really start to hear a difference sound wise, you need to increase your wattage by about 50%. Doubling your wattage only nets you about 3db. So what kind of increase would you see between 800w and 900w? Nothing you could hear, an SPL mike might not even pick it up. This is assuming you want to run the amp at 1 ohm. Even if you were running it at 2 ohms, 100w isn't going to make much of a difference. The only way I'd be worried about it if I were going to be running it at 4 ohms. If you want to run an amp at 4 ohms, this is not the amp for you.

Like I said, if you're looking for a 4 ohm amp, this is not the one for you. I ran it at 1 ohm and it loved it. It never once overheated or went into protect. The only problem I ever had with it was when the fuse block on my main power wire got loose. I thought the amp was dead, but it turned out the fuse just wasn't making a good connection.
