Alright, we all know that the hifonics amps are budget amps...

But what i want to know is why are they budget amps?

Are they reliable?

Do they put out power anywhere close to where the manufacturer states?

Do they cop out after after you turn up the volume to fast?!?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Like i surf ebay and all i see is these god darn things for cheap cheap!

At the prices im seein, it's like you could buy these things and just throw them away when your done!

I hear and read of many people running hifonics amps, is the only reason other people don't run them is because they are NOT the "brand" name to buy?

Some people are gonna say read first, some people are gonna say they are ok. Some people will say they are good budget amps, some will say they hate them. Some will say they do rated power, some will say they don't.

Personally I did not choose Hifonics amps because EVERYBODY I know has one or used one. I want to go a different route. Which one were you looking into and how much was it?

i have one its a good budget amp...people say the news years of hifonics are starting to do rated power...i ran 2 audiobahn flame Q series rated at 1500 rms each and my amp pushed them at 1 ohm and didnt even get warm i like them but soon be going to sundown saz 1500d for my new re mx soon to be run at .5 ohm if u have a budget then get em good amps

BXI2608D For like $430 CAN shipped. Like even if its puttin out 2000 real watts at 1 ohm, im still happy

I doubt if it's 600 watts off. But 430 to canada? You better off taking a raod trip to Buffalo and picking one up. Might cost you a little more overall, but you got to see some sites.

Lol, for a trip to buffalo by car...hmm that would probably put me over the $1000 mark in gas alone.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ill let the shipping companies pick one up for me;)

Ive went from a XX-Herc to a XX-thor and now to a XX-goliath...aint seen nothing but top notch results. Even had the hercules wired down low and it never fouled out on me. Said that the XX and XXV amps can be wired down to a 1/2ohm if you can supply the juices needed.

Honestly its just like buying anything else in the market, word of mouth. People think that because your not paying $1000 for a 1000w amp that it doesnt do rated power. That pricing issue is a start, then others just never heard of hifonics so they dont even mess with em.

DO NOT BE FOOLED.

The XX-series amps and the Brutus amps are very different creatures. You're comparing apples to oranges to a degree...

See thats what i was thinking. Its not a kicker/rockford/JL, and it costs less than 1000 dollars so it must be garbage:D:rolleyes:
It needn't cost a grand to give reliable service, by the way and I'm wondering who it is youi two hang out with that think so? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

The reason people bag on HiFonics gear nowadays is the sad truth that they simply do not make the same level of product as they did when Zed had their hands in it.

Does that make modern-day HiFonics unusable?

Certainly not. Not in the least.

If the amp will make the power you need (regardless of ratings on paper) and it fits in your budget?

Buy it up, mang!!!

Good budget amps. If you treat them right, they'll last. Don't feed them less than 12v, keep the correct impedance, give em a good ground and don't overheat them and you're golden.
LOL
