hiding amp in door

has anyone here ever mount their amp for their comps. inside the door panel?

is there an amp small enough for this?

i was thinking about getting 2 small 2 channel amps and putting 1 inside each door panel to run the front stage. 1 problem i can think of would be grounding points. any input is appreciated. i would also need an amp small enough, yet capable to put out at least 100 rms @ 4 ohms.

i love xtant. i currently have the a4004 running the comps. it's very large. the 1.1 is class d full range? xtant is known to have good sq. i would think that the 1.1 is no exception.

Yup, full range monoblock D, 100w @4ohm, about 4"x4"x1.5". I've never heard one but it's the same technology that Alpine & Eclipse are using.

bose does it...one concern would be water leakage ...need to take that in consideration during mounting...and then being able to breath so it doesn't over heat....

id not recomend putting an amp inside the door.

my thoughts were to customize the door panel for venting. this is all in the planning stage, but i was also thinking about the kick panels up front next to the floor board. moisture may be some work though in the door panel.

i've never done fiberglassing yet. might be a good time to learn. i was thinking about cutting a hole in the door panel the size of the amp and making some kind of cover that matches the panel, yet allows air flow. someone also posted a macintosh in dash amplifier once. for the life of me, i can't find it. i can't remember if it was single din or 1/2 din.

a door is not a good place to ground an amp. also you would need to run a power wire in to the door. around moving parts.

'glassing a custom mount would be super trick but I bet super tricky too.
