hid kits

so if i wanted to add a hid kit, what exactly would i need parts wise? and not the $700 route, the cheaper way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif lol.

what kind of car do you own?

find out what kind of headlight bulbs your car takes and find a pair of rebased kits to match them...

for example, my car takes 9006 halogen bulbs.. so i got a 9006 rebased hid kit

but if i could go back, i would probably save my money and went with a retrofit in the future.. even though the rebased kit isnt that bad, i wouldnt mind a nice even cutoff line with minimal hot spots

the headlight housing's in those cars you named have been made for HIDs.. the way the reflector housing is made, reduces glare and gives off a better cutoff line than a civic with a rebased kit in it

i know this. i own one of the mentioned vehicles. im simply stating that not all cars with hid's have projectors. And to the original poster- everyone is right. if you cant retrofit projectors, leave it alone. in my tahoe i had aftermarket hid's (from xenondepot.com) and the light output was probably about as good as stock lights. Not worth it for the glare others recieve. If you still insist on getting an hid kit, go with a 4300k light. all hid's from the factory are that temp. anything above that turns more purple and you loose light output, and any number below that is a yellowish color. i can provide links to read about it if anyone wants to learn more...
