Although I agree, I wouldnt say MOST of the time (but then again, in North Carolina, your probably right, most of time time its bad)not all purps have strong genetics and a high thc content, most of the time the plant was just stressed.
I dropped out of the whole "purple weed is best" game years ago.. I've had great purples before, but I've seen cases with friends who grow and they get certain phenos of the same strain that turn out purple while the others don't. After extensive testing by multiple parties we could all agree the purple one was no better than any of the others.
Some purples can be super dank. And its very possible to use seeds from a purple strain or even clones for that matter and have them come out green.
Dark dark purple is indication of outdoor cold temps at night as a natural defense the plants turn dark purple. (Could be indoors, as well with this scenario)
