The theory of evolution does not attempt to explain the first presence of matter, so it makes no sense to critique the theory of evolution on that aspect. This thread is about the theory of evolution.
Once again, god does not mean that evolution is impossible, so to address evolution from a first cause standpoint makes little sense.

We will never find out where matter came from. Christians say God created everything.
Answer me this, its a legitimate question. What if God isnt real? What if this whole religion thing was actually fake? What would you do? How would you feel? Dont tell me that "Thats not possible" or "I know it is real". Im looking for an actual answer.

what if isn't a very scientific question. but if He's not real then He's not real. I die and my carbon-based body gets recycled in the ground.

Then another question comes into play, what is the point of life and living? why should I be "ethical" if there's nothing higher? but before I get banned for trolling, I'll leave that alone okay DRAma

to me, a non believer, even that sounds like a load of crap. just sounds to me like a christian changing the rules again to make their life easier like with most things religious.

At the end of the day I want you all to know no matter our disagreements I respect your decisions to believe what you want to believe. you don't see me attacking any of you personally, I never will. So before you all get all upset lets keep this professional. We are talking about religion and science, not people and a person's character, now lets keep it going for sake of the forum

This is one thing I believe christianity does to help society. That was truly a christian response. Kudos for that at least.

Exactly, your theory is 'I dunno'. Your belief is only relevent here to the point of showing people that while you act like you have all the answers, the truth is all you have is vague criticism, and no answers at all.
And now, after all your 'evolution has many fallacies' arguments, you are gonna say "there are lots of theories, each with their own convincing cases, and most have some factual evidence to back them up". lmao

So we start discussing the most celebrated and scientifically tested theory on the delopement of life on this planet (evolution) nd you come in here arguing how it has all these fallaices. But when pinned down, you dont really know what you think is right and alot of theories hold merit? You just want to argue to hear yourself talk. You dont even have your own theory, just want to try and shoot down everyone elses (including the majority of the human scientific body on this planet) just to make yourself look or feel smart. You aren't accomplishing either.

What's wrong with me not knowing what's correct? I don't know, nor do I pretend to. I come in here asserting that evolution has its fallacies, and it seems like you're too blind to admit that it does as well. I don't care that it's the most celebrated scientifically tested theory on the development of life... that doesn't change the fact that there are still gaping holes in it.

It's called 'devil's advocate.' Ever play it? I could come in here and say everything that's right with evolution, and y'all wouldn't have a problem with that, even if my assertion were still "I dunno." You seem to be implying that the only reason you try to act morally is to get a golden ticket to heaven...please tell me that isn't true. I couldn't care less whether there is heaven and hell, or if I'm just going to decay in the ground, I always try to do the right thing and live by the golen rule.

The point to living is to reproduce. It really doesnt matter how you treat others in the end, as long as you create more of yourself.

I try to be a nice guy and a good person. I would give most people the shirt off my back and bend over backwards to help most strangers, but there is no reward for it. I wont go to heaven, I wont have an afterlife, I wont get nice points when I die, and I cant trade good deeds for a cash reward.

Theres no reason to be ethical. But why not just be nice to people?

God is the only reason you're nice to people? Without him people are worthless and dont deserve your time and wellwishes? It seems like you're missing the whole message of your religion. Be a good person and be kind to others. You do it to make some guy in the sky happy? Shouldnt you do it to make yourself feel better about you?

what about it? educate me. to be blunt i think the bible is the greatest piece of fiction ever written so ive never cared to read it or learn about it. once i heard the story of the burning bush, talking snake, virgin birth, jonah and the whale etc, my common sense kicked in and made me realize all that cant happen.

For the record, you dont know me, my back ground, or how I was raised. I was a choir boy. I learned that my belief wont be based on whether or not I think my life will be better following one or the other, but based on wht is TRUTH. You have al;ready stated you are not interested in truth, as you 'have no intentions of changing'... so we are to presme you thin k you are divinely knowledgeable above anyone who disagrees with you and your 'faith' in something you have absolutely no way to prove. And Ive known an awful lot of christians who tried to convince me tey didnt need any more proof, but Ive never met one I believed in that regard. Apparently one of the duties of being a good little christian is to close your mind.

well its already been established that no science can be definitively true so lets get that out the way. I don't know you and how you were raised that's true, that's why I said lets not make this personal. if you feel hurt by your emboldened comment then I apologize. I have known many closed-minded christians in my day and I feel sorry for them. they are lost and they may get to heaven, but never know how to live how God intended. I think them going around preaching to others their lost grasp of God hurts the kingdom instead of helps it. Every Christian should test in their own life to see if God is really real in their lives. it shouldn't be God said so it must be right. NEVER. Everybody should have a Job moment questioning God. God knows we will and expects it.
